I have a well documented history of loving the works of L.H. Cosway, Penny Reid individually and the works of their partnership. They have brought me many hours of total enjoyment. This series has been a winner for me and so when I started this last entry, I was geared to go...

Quirky, unedited thoughts and the internal thoughts of wishing one hadn't said what they did... those are elements which describe Josey Kavanagh. Josey's parents have supported

L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid are a brilliant writing duo and The Voyeur and the Varlet is a captivating addition to their Rugby series.

Josey Kavanagh was adrift, until she found her passion for animals and decided to become a veterinarian. The only problem is that she has no money to support herself much less pay for her tuition. Crashing with her best friend Eilish and her rugby player boyfriend was a good idea at first, but her oddball ways have worn out her welcome. Fortunately they have a so

So unique. A completely different kind of story line. Characters that are totally atypical. Cosway and Reid are wonderful together.

I am so sad this is the last book in this series - I have loved these characters and this unique series but I honestly think these authors saved the best for last. Will is everything. He's sensitive, kind, generous, thoughtful, maybe a bit shy and reserved and super swoony. Will isn't your typical romance hero and nothing like I was expecting. He is respectful but also has a naughty side and I loved the steamy scenes in this book. The heroine, Josey, reminded me a bit of myself. She's socially a ...more

The blurb was begging me to read the book.
The first couple chapters hooked me right in.
But despite the charming writing of this writing duo... I couldn't help but feel like I was being both educated and corrected on society's sexual atypical preferences.
Add to this an heroine shouting sexual come-ons during sex like one might have Tourette's and I was done. I finished it but with no heart and no space for romance.

This is a book that I've been eagerly waiting to read. I've loved each book in this series. This story starts off with Josey's POV:

The Heroine, Josey is told by her parents that they need to downsize & move to a smaller, more affordable home-. and not enough room for Josey. Her mom & dad tell her that it's time for her to spread her wings. Josey's been living with her (mildly eccentric, intellectual) parents while working part time and going to school. She's well into her mid 20s. She's

I loved this so freaking hard!!

It's been a long time since I picked up a book and became so immersed in it that HOURS went by where I did nothing but read. I literally did not move from my bed at all today because I was so in love with this story that L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid had created.

When I had first read the synopsis, I was hesitant. I was worried I wouldn't like it because of the voyeurism sub-plot and I jumped to conclusions of what the book would be like. But if you were lik

Because my enjoyment of this series has been on an (unfortunate) decline since book one, I wandered into THE VARLET AND THE VOYEUR with a bit of trepidation, even though that summary, and the idea of Will starring in his own book, had me so excited.

Usually I had a ratio of three okay statements for every awkward one.

I'll admit that I feel more strongly in favour of the hero than the heroine because Josey is one of those 'blurt out everything, no filter, whacky weird wonderful' kind of chicks an

All five of those sweet, honorable, awkward, (and a little kinky) stars. There is so much I want to say about this book but I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I’m going to use a numbered list to truncate and organize my thoughts:

    1. Dual POV. I always love romance stories written from a dual perspective. Especially when the characters are so good at masking their true feelings.
    2. L.H. & Penny’s and styles blend seamlessly. They both have unique voices and though they show through they

Warning! This is a long review because I had a lot to say! (Also, my views may be considered spoilery.)

With the Varlet and the Voyeur, Cosway and Reid write about a man who likes to watch others have sex and a woman who is socially awkward to the point it is embarrassing, if not painful, to watch.

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book :) this is the fourth and last installment in this series, and to be honest... I'm sad to hear this... I really grew to love all the characters I met within the pages of these stories... and this duo of co-authors definitely made me feel all the feels throughout those books... but worry not, if you are a little bit overcome with the feelings of nostalgia and melancholy... because even though this is the last installment in this particular series, ...more

Will made me feel "like a unicorn cupcake dipped in edible glitter covered in chocolate sprinkles."
At 26, extremely pampered by her doting parents, Josey suddenly finds herself looking for a roof over her head and a job to support her studies. She just happens to be in the right place at the right time when a famous rugby player is in desperate need of a care taker... or rather a voyeurism abstinence sponsor! My excitement level upon finding this on my Ipad was pretty freaking high - I have loved every book in this series. This writing duo wrote some of my favourite stories last year and this one did not disappoint. Told in dual POV (my favourite) we get Will and Josey's story this time round. We have met them both in previous books and have to say they had me hooked from the first page.

Will and Josey were well suited for each other they both were...odd, or I should say they both have their odd tendencies. Josey was just so cute, the girl took awkward to a whole new level, “well, tampons are very light, so I had no problem carrying the bags. I wouldn’t usually buy so many, but these are never on sale , and they’re the ones I prefer because they’re—” Josey is a sharer, girl likes to offer an abundance of information even if it's to much, “this is fun. Wohoo, yes heres the latest book in Penny Reid and LH Cosways Rugby Series. Every book in this series can easily be read as a standalone. The previous books are The Hooker and the Hermit; The Player and the Pixie; and The Cad and the Co-Ed.
The Varlet and the Voyeur is Josey and Wills story.
Josey Kavanagh is a sheltered 25 year old veterinary student. Shes about to livce on her own for the very first time.

Confession: prior to reading this book I had never heard of the word "varlet" and when assumed it was a rugby position. Turns out it is not, varlet apparently means: "a man or boy acting as an attendant or servant/ a dishonest or unprincipled man." So there you go, you really do learn something new everyday.

LH Conway and Penny Reid are the greatest literary pairing I can think of, they are like the author version of peanut butter and chocolate. Two amazing things on their own that when combined

I have read all the books in this series, and I am a fan of Reid and Cosway's writing. I thik one could easily read this without having read the other stories first, but previous characters make enough of an appearance, that I would guess a first-time reader would become curious about the other books.
What I like about the Rugby series in particular is that the Rugby players very much fit into the masculine stereotype one would expect f

I'm going to be upfront about something right now. I don't particularly like reading about athletes or sports romance in general. It's not my cup of tea. That being said, William Moore is the kind of athlete I want to read about and The Varlet and the Voyeur is the kind of book I want gracing my shelves.

Will is not the typical, fame-hungry athlete you come across regularly in contemporary romance. He reads and goes to bed early. He plays for the sport and for the love of the game. He has strong

    I. Freaking. Love. This. Book.

Have you ever read a character that's so much like you that you're like "OH MY GOSH THEY WROTE THIS CHARACTER FOR ME!"? Well, that's me and Josey. We both have what I like to call "talktomuchitis" and "footinmouthitis" - which are real, technical terms I tell you.

And it's completely uncanny how they tapped into my husband for inspiration for their hero (that's a joke, people). I mean, Will reminded me so much of my hubs that I was like "have they been spying on my

L.H. Cosway lives in Dublin, Ireland. Her inspiration to write comes from music. Her favourite things in life include writing stories, vintage clothing, dark cabaret music, food, musical comedy, and of course, books.

She thinks that imperfect people are the most interesting kind. They tell the best stories.
